Needless to say; relationships are complicated.

The process of trying to be in a relationship can be challenging, and trying to be in a healthy relationship can be really daunting, and for many, a complete unknown. Romantic love is wonderful but fleeting, mature love is often not role modeled for us so attaining it is baffling. We bring so much to a relationship and often our unresolved issues and projections can often create unhealthy patterns of reactivity, codependency, fear and power struggles.

I work with couples on creating healthier and more effective ways of communicating as well as creating a safe place and way to ask for and get needs met. I focus on the "allowing" of feelings in ways that weren't allowed due to childhood issues, trauma, cultural environments/messages and family of origin issues. As well as a focus on emotional regulation and attachment styles that play a big part in how we choose partners and are capable of maintaining relationships or not.

I specialize in working with couples in recovery, LGBQT and non-traditional arrangements. Taking the step to get help in your relationship is brave and doing the work can be overwhelming but worth it to keep the love you have found. We work so hard at so many things why not our relationship? Like a plant that doesn't get watered a relationship dies without the proper amount of care, you and your partner are worth that.

Healthy Relationships...
Let’s not forget it’s you and me vs the problem...
NOT you vs me.
